This part of the reading I found very interesting when Esme talks to Mr. Turner for advice about a student that was being disrespectful. Mr. Turner thought that the only reason he is not getting punished the same way as other white students was because he was black. I find that wrong to say because race doesnt have to do with anything. I'm a minority and my parents thought me better than to ever disrespect my teachers. I'm pretty sure there's several of minorities that teach their kids how to respect older people and I'm also pretty sure that there's white students who are disrespectful as well.
